Some More Burglaries

26/01 at 1800hrs- Allotments sheds in Seagry broken into- 3x males (believed adults seen running from scene)- nothing reported stolen at this time.

26-27 /01- overnight- Castle Combe- landrover has has lights stolen.

25-27/01- Seagry and Startley Village Hall has been broken into via window- nothing taken.

26/01 2000-2100hrs- two cigarette bins damaged to the value of £70 at Goss Croft Hall in Seagry.

28/01- 1800-2200hrs- Matford Hill in Chippenham- elderly female's property broken into whilst occupant out, via insecure window. Untidy search of house. Jewellery taken.

Burglary in Kington Langley

25/01 1115hrs-1940hrs- Parkers Lane, Upper Common Kington Langley (house is currently under internal renovation)- Burgalry. Unknown suspect(s) have used unknown means to enter IP's dwelling (possibly via insecure rear patio door as no sign of forced entry) and steal high value jewellery approximately £32,000 worth and an apple Mac. Enquiries ongoing. If you have seen anything suspicious in this area please call 101.

Burglaries from Outhouses

Between 22nd and 23rd (overnight) Unknown suspect has gained entry to  wooden garden shed in West Yatton Road by removing a small padlock.  Suspect has then made a untidy search and opened a glass fronted cupboard and removed power tools TVO £600.  Items are a 240v Mikita Circular saw, a 240v Mikita Core drill, a AEG Core drill and a unknown make of Router.  All items were in their cases.

22nd and 23rd (overnight) at Middle Fosse Farm- reporting unknown persons have entered the farm yard and stolen diesel from the fuel tank, quantity at this time is not known.

Burglary in the rural area

Whitegates, Castle Combe- Kitchen door insecure whilst occupants in the house. Christmas Presents stolen from kitchen cupboards. 14/11 1600hrs.

Gate Farm, Sutton Benger- Utility vehicle stolen from unsecure barn. Repeat victim. 26/11-27/11 Overnight.

West Yatton- padlock and bolt broken from an outbuilding of a farm. Attempt break. 26/11-27/11

Edgecorner Lane, Burton- shed broken into- steel bin stolen. 30/11-01/12

Stanton St Quinton- Rear door of dwelling smashed and items of jewellery stolen. TVO £1800. 05/12-07/12

West Yatton Road, Yatton Keynell- Rear Door smashed, camera stolen TVO £400. 22/12

Recent Burglaries

Biddestone- Burglary at a bungalow on Challows Lane between 30th Dec-4th of Jan. The burglary occurred whilst property was unoccupied, entry gained via rear door. £500 stolen and a Gold Half Sovereign Coin.

Christian Malford Village Hall- Padlock to storage area has been broken and LPG Gas cylinder stolen- to the value of £115.

Warwick Close in Chippenham an insecure vehicle has been broken into a sat nav and bank cards stolen. Overnight on 6th-7th Jan.

Vehicle Damage Incidents


Between 1745-2045 on 19th Dec an unknown Suspect(s) have slashed both n/s tyres on vehicle whilst parked at the Kingfisher public house in Hungerdown Lane, Chippenham.

Overnight on 19th/20th Dec an unknown persons have removed the front number plate from the IP vehicle while parked overnight at Christian Malford Village hall.

More Vehicle Thefts


Overnight on the 5th into the morning of the 6th Chippenham has been hit by thefts from vehicles. There has been 7  thefts overnight in Brewers Fair/Premier Inn carpark, Malmsbury Road and  Leigh Delemere Services. Tools and handbag taken.

Please make sure that all residents are reminded not to leave valuables or tools in vehicles-especially Christmas Presents/vouchers at this time of year.

Burglary in Chippenham

Overnight on 5th into the 6th Dec an unknown offender has smashed rear door of house in Whittle Close Chippenham and gained access. £200-£300 cash stolen from within.
