2 Alerts - Door to Door Gardening

1:   We have had two white males calling on elderly residents in the BROOK DRIVE and BROADMEAD area of CORSHAM falsely claiming trees and large bushes are diseased and need to be removed.  The males are described as being in their 40's, disheveled, medium build, dark hair, wearing green jackets with  an unknown logo on the front left chest and dark trousers.  They are using a white pick-up (no index) and are also wearing or carrying  yellow hard hats and other protective equipment.

2.  On 27th November 3 white males approached a resident in the area of Weavers Croft Melksham and gave a quote of £1,250 for two hours worth of gardening. £700 was handed to the males who made arrangements to return a few days later to collect rest of the money. The males did return but no cash was handed over. With that said, there has been an offence under Sec 3 Fraud Act (Failing to Disclose Information - Cooling Off Period) Trading Standards are looking into this incident but this alert is to raise awareness and ask that members of the public report any suspicious activity to Wiltshire Police on 101 if they see a white van in the area with white males touting for business. Vehicle index numbers would be beneficial under these circumstances. THEY ARE ACTIVE IN THE AREA
